Defense Minister Israel Katz stated on live television his intention to appoint the current IDF manpower directorate chief as the new head of Central Command.

It remains unclear whether outgoing commander Maj.-Gen. Avi Bluth will receive another post or whether Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir was consulted on the decision.
