A new Israeli law has taken effect requiring graphic images depicting the dangers of smoking on all tobacco product packaging.

Israel Cancer Association CEO Moshe Bar Haim called the measure a dramatic milestone in the fight against smoking, which claims more than 1,000 lives in Israel every month.
