Joshua Kushner, a Jewish investor, and Bob Iger, the former Disney CEO, are set to purchase the Los Angeles Lakers for a record $12. 5 billion.

The deal requires NBA league approval and follows Mark Walter's acquisition of the franchise for $10 billion one year earlier.
