US senators are pressing Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent for stronger sanctions targeting Russian sanctions-evasion networks.

The last major US sanctions on Russia were imposed in October 2025 against the oil companies Rosneft and Lukoil.
