The Jodhpur and Mysore Lancers of the Indian cavalry participated in the Battle of Haifa on 23 September 1918 during the Sinai and Palestine Campaign of World War I.

Ottoman forces held the city until the lancer regiments conducted mounted charges that contributed to its capture by Allied troops.
