Democrats remain divided over push to eliminate Israel aid amid House floor gridlock

House Democrats are experiencing internal divisions concerning a proposal by Rep. Thomas Massie to eliminate the $3.3 billion military aid that the U.S. provides to Israel. Democratic leaders have thus far maintained vague stances as the timing of the vote on this issue in the House remains uncertain.

The proposal is part of the 2027 State Department funding bill and has not yet generated a consensus among party members. The ongoing gridlock in the House has further complicated the likelihood of this vote proceeding in the near future.
