The United States has imposed sanctions on firms accused of helping Iran extort ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

The US Treasury Secretary stated that the United States will not permit Iran to hold global commerce hostage or finance the IRGC’s terrorism, aggression and repression through international shipping.
