Mohammad Jandia, the head of security for the Shuja'iyya Brigade, was killed in northern Gaza. He played a significant role in the kidnapping of IDF Captain Daniel Peretz and held three hostages before being inadvertently killed by IDF fire.

In reaction to Jandia's death, the families of the victims expressed their anguish. Alon's brother stated, "No action will bring back our heroic brother," while Daniel's father remarked on the accountability of those involved on the 1,000th day of the incident.
