New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the release of $70 million in state hate crimes funding to fortify religious facilities across the state ahead of the High Holy Days.

The Democratic governor also ordered a surge in police presence and opened her Tuesday press conference with a “shana tova” greeting.
