Daniel Lewin, an Israeli-American co-founder of Akamai Technologies and former member of Israel's Sayeret Matkal unit, was the first victim killed during the September 11 attacks.

Lewin was a passenger on American Airlines Flight 11 when al-Qaeda hijackers seized the aircraft. He was stabbed during the takeover of the plane.
