Why this Book of the Bible Is Read During Sukkot...

Jewish holidays are typically accompanied by a specific book of the Bible read during the observance. During Sukkot the book of Ecclesiastes is read.

A sukkah is a temporary structure, and the reading reminds participants that earthly life is temporary. It encourages reliance on God, similar to the Israelites in the wilderness, and trust in divine timing for every season.
