Israeli Government Options Narrow as Abbas Rules Out Minority Coalition...
Israeli political commentator Amit Segal stated that options for forming a new government have narrowed sharply, ruling out a minority coalition. Mansour Abbas has described the chances of such an arrangement as slim to nonexistent.
Segal noted the irony that Abbas previously proposed a Jewish-majority condition for a minority government, later echoed by Eisenkot, but that majority now favors Netanyahu following the election. Negotiating with the full Joint List, including Balad, would be required for any minority deal.
