New York Governor Kathy Hochul appointed a 19-member panel of Jewish nonprofit leaders and Holocaust remembrance organizations to plan a state memorial in Albany. The monument will honor the six million Jews murdered by the Nazi regime.

Hochul signed legislation last December authorizing the memorial on the plaza near the Statehouse.
