A man in the Bronx has been charged with 14 counts including assault and six hate crimes for attacking a congregant and a security guard at Central Synagogue during a Shabbat service.

The Reform congregation stated that its rabbis helped members respond in real time and refused to allow the incident to extinguish their Shabbat observance.
