The head of the American Middle East Coalition for Democracy stated that Lebanese citizens seek normalized ties with Israel and a stronger government capable of removing Hezbollah from power.

Hajjar argued that Israel and Lebanon have much to offer each other’s citizens and that misapplication of Lebanon’s 1955 anti-boycott law has created unnecessary barriers to relations.
