Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya emergency headquarters issued a warning to the United States over rising tensions in Gulf shipping lanes. The statement accused Washington of imposing an illegal naval blockade and threatening Iranian commercial vessels and oil tankers in Iranian territorial waters.

Iran said the US actions amount to aggression that would expand the regional war. The warning followed three days of reported US threats against Iranian shipping.
