Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with Hossein Taeb, newly appointed commander of the Basij organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Taeb previously headed the IRGC Intelligence Organization and commanded the Basij during the 2009 protests; he received the appointment by order of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.
