Shlomo Haimson was killed by British guards in Cyprus in 1948, just days after the birth of his daughter. For decades, his burial place remained unknown.

A four-year Israeli investigation uncovered clues including five surviving fragments of an old cemetery map. Investigators reconstructed the original layout of a cemetery transferred from Cyprus to Haifa and identified Haimson’s grave using inscriptions and a sequence of names.
