Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon criticized New York City Mayor Mamdani for a post marking the October 7 anniversary. Danon compared the post to turning September 11 into a day of mourning for al-Qaeda.

He accused the mayor of attempting to hijack the anniversary of the Hamas attack by issuing a condemnation of Israel.
