The wife of New York State Assembly member Zohran Mamdani is expected to travel to Syria and Lebanon with a taxpayer-funded NYPD security detail.

Both Syria and Lebanon appear on the US State Department's Level 4 "Do not Travel" list, with Lebanon's advisory issued June 5 and Syria's issued July 8.
