Rashad Sultanov, a 44-year-old British-Azerbaijani national from north London, was arrested on July 17 by Cypriot authorities on suspicion of spying for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

He is being held in custody while extradition proceedings advance, according to the Metropolitan Police.
