Seattle Parks and Recreation confirmed that the Fedayeen Football League, which has been criticized for glorifying terrorism, held matches at Cal Anderson Park and Green Lake Park without the necessary permits.

The department also noted that it does not assess marketing materials for events when reviewing permit applications.
