Jacob and Esau Clash on the Cross Bronx Expressway in New Book...

A new novel set in 1952 follows 23-year-old Jay deVenezia, a six-foot-five Italian Jew from the Bronx, and his older brother Eric “Bud” deVenezia. The story uses the biblical Jacob and Esau motif to depict the brothers’ clash along the Cross Bronx Expressway.

The book explores themes of Jewish identity and family conflict in mid-20th-century New York.
