The India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) aims to link India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Israel to Europe as an alternative to the Suez Canal.

Haifa port, operated by an Indian company, sits at the center of the route, with only 12 km of missing railway on the Israel–Jordan border preventing full connection.
