Oran Almog was blinded in the October 4, 2003 suicide bombing at the Maxim Restaurant in Haifa, Israel. Twenty-three years later, he recounted his story of choosing resilience and hope over tragedy at the StandWithUs Festival of Lights event in December 2025.

The attack killed 21 people. Almog described building a life defined by strength rather than loss.
