CNN: Montreal shooting target police, not Jewish community

CNN reported that the Montreal shooting, which resulted in the deaths of Rabbi Michael Moshe Mizrahi and a police officer, was initially aimed at law enforcement rather than targeting the Jewish community. The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal stated this according to their preliminary assessment.

The police officer who was killed has been identified as Mohamed Lamine Ben Redouane by the French-language Canadian news outlet La Presse. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
