Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich responded to Argentina’s World Cup semifinal victory over England with a sarcastic statement linking the British loss to sanctions and entry restrictions imposed on him by the UK.

He wrote that although he cannot enter the UK because of his opposition to a Palestinian state, the two Argentine goals still counted.
