The Likud court ruled that party lawmakers and ministers are forbidden from running in regional primary slots. The decision blocks a proposal advanced by Prime Minister Netanyahu and Constitution Committee chairman Minister Haim Katz.

The measure had passed the committee by a narrow five-vote majority before the court overturned it.
