Surgeons at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem implanted donor corneal tissue to treat severe keratoconus in a 38-year-old teacher. The procedure raised the patient's vision from 10 percent to 90 percent.

The improvement allowed the teacher to resume driving and return to work.
