The Iraqi government has decided to centralize all weapons under its control, aiming to end the independent operations of armed organizations, some of which take orders from Tehran. A deadline has been set for these groups to relinquish their weapons by September 30.

However, certain militias, notably the Hezbollah Brigades, are defying this order and have stated that they will not hand over any weapons, asserting their intent to maintain their armament.
