Iran has appointed new commanders to its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Basij paramilitary force amid signals of a prolonged confrontation.

The new leaders include individuals under US sanctions, with one subject to an Interpol Red Notice connected to the 1994 AMIA bombing of a Jewish community center in Argentina.
