Captain Smit Machchhar of flydubai flight 1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv was stabbed multiple times by his co-pilot, causing the aircraft to drop 14,000 feet in under 30 seconds.

Bleeding heavily, he opened the cockpit door so Israeli passengers could enter and overpower the attacker.
