Aisha Wahab, a progressive California state senator, held a narrow 51% lead over Melissa Hernandez, a moderate former mayor, in the East Bay congressional runoff with 62% of votes counted.

AIPAC directed late outside spending in support of Hernandez in the special election for the House seat.
