Israeli surgeons at Beilinson Hospital performed a world-first procedure by implanting a custom 3D-printed chest wall into a 20-year-old patient with a rare form of cancer.

The implant uses an ultra-lightweight aerospace material that is 60 percent lighter than traditional metal options and permits real bone to grow directly into it.
