Two senior Iranian officials, including a Revolutionary Guards member, told The New York Times that Tehran is preparing to harm American diplomats and government officials.

They cited the killings of dozens of Iranian officials and family members by Israel and the United States as the reason American citizens are now viewed as legitimate targets.
