Just before Tisha B'Av: Burnt wooden beams from First Temple Period discovered...

Archaeologists excavating Jerusalem's City of David have uncovered massive charred wooden beams. The beams are believed to have collapsed during the destruction of the First Temple in 586 BCE.

The find was announced just before the observance of Tisha B'Av.
