Chief Rabbinate: Certification license granted to Tzohar unlawfully
The Chief Rabbinate of Israel has revoked the kashrut certification license of Tzohar Food Supervision Ltd., citing legal flaws in the initial granting of the license. This decision follows consultations with the Ministry of Justice's Legislation and Legal Advice Department, which pointed to a fundamental flaw in the process of certification.
Attorney Yaakov Ofer, the legal adviser to the Chief Rabbinate, communicated this decision to Tzohar in a formal letter, emphasizing the need for lawful compliance in kashrut certification operations.
