Bahraini political analyst Dr. Ahmed Alkhuzaie stated that an attack on Mecca has shown the conflict involving Iran is not a religious war. He added that Iran has attempted to portray events in religious terms.

Alkhuzaie told the Jerusalem Post that even an attack on Mecca has failed to unite the Middle East against Iran.
