Remove Syria from list of state terror sponsors, two Dem senators, GOP rep tell State Department
Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Elizabeth Warren, along with Rep. Joe Wilson, have urged the U.S. State Department to remove Syria from its list of state sponsors of terrorism. They assert that the current Syrian government under President Ahmed Al-Sharaa has shown a commitment to counterterrorism operations within the country.
This call comes in light of political changes in Syria since the fall of the Assad regime, highlighting a shift in approach to terrorism and regional security by the new leadership.
