U. S. Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack said Turkish newspapers daily promote claims that Greater Israel stretches from Vienna to the Maldives.

Barrack added that Israelis in Tel Aviv view an Ottoman Empire 2. 0 in return and described much of the rhetoric as political rather than substantive.
