Israel’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement marking the anniversary of Turkey’s 1974 invasion of Cyprus. The ministry condemned the Turkish military presence in the island’s north as unacceptable.

It called for renewed UN-backed negotiations aimed at achieving a lasting solution to the Cyprus dispute.
