The Israel Airports Authority attributed major delays at Ben Gurion International Airport to heavy air traffic, restrictions in European airspace, and flights by American refueling aircraft, rejecting claims of a staffing shortage.

An unusually large backlog of approximately 90 flights accumulated within three hours, with around 90,000 passengers expected to pass through the airport today.
