Syria's Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani stated that security talks with Israel could resume soon despite a lack of trust between the sides.

Negotiations had been frozen since the Iran war and had nearly produced a deal that included planned security zones near the border and a UN-only buffer zone.
