The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation updated its editorial guidelines to remove the requirement for citing sources when describing the September 11 attacks as terrorism.

The revision followed backlash over a leaked internal memo addressing Al-Qaeda ahead of the attacks' 25th anniversary.
