The Knesset announced new legislation requiring IDF headstones to include a note if the soldier was abducted. This follows a Defense Ministry announcement that 1,318 members of Israel's security forces have been killed since October 7, 2023.

The measure addresses how fallen soldiers who were kidnapped will be commemorated on military graves.
