Sayeret Matkal veteran aboard Flight 11: 'We missed out on someone great'...

Daniel Lewin, a 31-year-old Israeli-American and former Sayeret Matkal officer, was murdered aboard American Airlines Flight 11 on September 11, 2001. He is regarded as the first victim of the terrorist attacks when the plane struck the North Tower at 8:46 a.m.

Lewin co-founded Akamai Technologies and is remembered by his Sayeret Matkal comrades as someone great whose potential was cut short.
