Yemeni President Rashad al-Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, announced Operation “Dawn of Yemen” on October 4 as a counteroffensive against the Houthis. The operation receives Saudi backing and targets Houthi positions in Yemen.

The move comes amid ongoing Houthi attacks on Red Sea shipping and regional instability tied to Iran-supported networks. FDD reported the announcement from official Yemeni statements.
