Former Israeli Air Force commander Eitan Ben Eliyahu stated that the Air Force failed to respond effectively during the October 7 Hamas attack.

He called for at least part of the force to maintain readiness to respond within half an hour, a capability that was absent on that day, and stressed the need to learn from the failure.
